  • Overview

IPKeys Technologies is seeking a Network Systems Engineering Intermediate to provide transport engineering support for all DOD and non-DOD interconnected communication infrastructures located world- wide. The candidate is expected to participate in regular meetings with internal program staff, teammates, and the government client on a frequent basis is expected to deliver client value for the Communications Engineering Division, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which is responsible for maintaining and posturing the DOD Information Network (DODIN) transport infrastructure and capabilities. Effective leadership and communication skills are essential for working among a blended prime/subcontractor program team and developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the development of engineering plans to speed transmitter and receiver pairings, engineering support plans to achieve optimal optical-signal-to-noise ratio, engineering support plans for compensating for chromatic dispersion and engineering support in coordinating with commercial providers of high-speed long-haul optical transmission networks connected to the DISN
    • Support the development of engineering Technique, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs) to validate the optical network connection requirements provided by installation teams, including information provided to DISA by lease vendors.
    • Update and maintain the optical wavelength plans for all theaters including the primary database
    • Support the development of engineering plans to evaluate fiber characterizations and provide guidance to fiber vendor, on-site technicians, and/or managers for fiber remediation as required
    • Support the development and maintenance of transport network engineering plans, architectural engineering changes, network engineering plans/documentation, T&E network engineering plans/documentation and deployment engineering plans/documents
