  • Overview

    IPKeys Technologies is looking for an ALAD/Mechanic Helper – Sheet Medal Fabrication to support a Naval Air Command program located at NAS Lakehurst, NJ. This is a position with the Prototype and Manufacturing Department’s Aircraft Launch and Arrested Device (ALAD) team.  ALAD team members perform tasks primarily on Aircraft Launch and Arresting Devices (ALAD). These tasks may include but are not limited to disassembly and assembly of equipment, sandblasting and painting, operation of heat treating ovens and equipment, fabrication of aircraft arresting cables, and fabrication of arresting barricades.

    Responsibilities

    The Prototype and Manufacturing Department (PMD) provides critical hardware to the fleet. PMD overhauls arresting engines and launch valves, are the sole source of supply for the cables used for aircraft arrestment (i.e., purchase cables and cross deck pendants), manufactures hardware in response to fleet emergencies, and produces a wide range of support equipment. PMD is the sole source of supply and last source of supply for critical hardware that is essential to Navy Fleet operations.

    Qualifications

    • Must have mechanical experience and be mechanically inclined
    • Ability to read blueprints
    • Good math skills are required
    • Experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication
    • Experience in various welding techniques, preference for those candidates certified
