  • Overview

    IPKeys Technologies is looking for an ALAD/Mechanic Helper – Cable Line to support a Naval Air Command program located at NAS Lakehurst, NJ.

    Responsibilities

    The specific tasks that the individual may be asked to perform are:

     

    • Assisting in the rolling out of wire rope (up to 1 7/16 inches thick).  The ropes are generally moved by conveyor.  The ropes are approximately 4 lbs per foot and an arresting cable is around 100 feet long.  We create a range of cable lengths and thicknesses.
    • Saw cutting ropes
    • Placing rope ends in solvents to clean the ends.
    • Assisting in, or performing, initial terminal placement prior to swaging
    • Assisting in, or performing, terminal swaging including operation of a large press
    • Assisting in, or performing, cable boxing operations
    • Forklift movement of boxes into temporary storage locations

     

    This is a position with the Prototype and Manufacturing Division cable shop.  The Mechanic Helper will be working a dirty environment that frequently requires the wearing of protective gear which includes Tyvek suits.  The combination of protective gear and summer weather conditions can make the work environment very hot.  Workers must be physically capable of working in adverse and dirty conditions.  Steel toe shoes are required on the first day.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates must pass a CDL physical before being hired with annual retest.
    • Candidates must have the ability to lift 50 lbs (more is preferred)
    • Candidates must have the ability to obtain forklift license (existing license and experience preferred)

    Experience
