  • Overview

    IPKeys Technologies is seeking a VMware/Virtualization Engineer to provide support to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to comply with the Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI). The VMware/Virtualization Engineer will collaborate with government representatives to assist in the technical assessment of both physical and virtual IT systems hosted within multiple environments. The Technical Lead will assist in various activities that will aid in the proper migration of IT systems from federal data centers to other consolidated locations and cloud environments.

    Responsibilities

    Develops and reports data center strategies and roadmaps for IT services and provides technical oversight to ensure developed solutions satisfy customer and business requirements. Leads all engineering-related processes and projects while in the development, transition, and implementation phase. Has expertise in areas such as Commercial Cloud Networks, Cybersecurity, Network Infrastructure, server utilization and automated monitoring, Access Control, virtualization and technology advancements.

    Qualifications

     

    • Must have extensive knowledge of DoD and Federal process management practices and policies (e.g. FedRAMP, NIST, Cloud SRG, JIE, etc…)
    • CISSP certification
    • VCP certification (or any similar related Virtualization certification)
    • Knowledge and experience in managing and supporting IT processes and services in a large government organization
    • Experience with consolidation and closure of existing data centers
      • Transitioning to provisioned services, including configurable and flexible technology such as Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to the furthest extent practicable, consistent with the Cloud First policy.
      • Migrating to inter-agency shared services or co-location data centers.
      • Migrating to more optimized data centers within the agency’s data center inventory.
