  • Overview

    IPKeys Technologies is seeking an Network Systems Engineering Lead to provide transport engineering support for all DOD and non-DOD interconnected communication infrastructures located world- wide. The candidate is expected to participate in regular meetings with internal program staff, teammates, and the government client on a frequent basis is expected to deliver client value for the Communications Engineering Division, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which is responsible for maintaining and posturing the DOD Information Network (DODIN) transport infrastructure and capabilities. Effective leadership and communication skills are essential for working among a blended prime/subcontractor program team and developing and maintaining strong client relationships. 

    Responsibilities

    The network systems engineering lead candidate shall: 

    • Provide engineering support for the planning, implementation, and sustainment of IP technologies. The candidate shall be part of the operational network engineering support team in sustaining the infrastructure 
    • Example categories represent concentration areas where most of the work will fall in to: 
    • Internet Access Point (IAP): The candidate shall provide engineering expertise in the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation process of initiatives and proposed enhancements and modifications for inclusion into the IAP network infrastructure situated between the Internet and the DISN 
    • The Cloud Access Point (CAP): The candidate shall provide engineering support in relation to the design, testing, implementation, installation and configuration of the CAP architecture. The engineering support facilitates the development of technical requirements, and support of Systems Engineering Lifecycle sustainment 
    • DISN Perimeter Hardening Engineering/DISN Joint IA (DJI):  The candidate shall assist with developing, testing and providing implementation guides for initiatives to increase the security (harden the perimeter) of DISN.  Initiatives include improving controls to prevent Internet attacks against the backbone infrastructure and customers, providing traffic segmentation and assured bandwidth for traffic from Internet business partners to the DoD DMZ and DJI, implementing layered protection and segmentation of the traffic, and filtering undesirable Internet Traffic 
    • NIPRNet Federated Gateway (NFG): The candidate shall provide engineering expertise in the analysis and testing of NFG layer and related services in the DISN and for DISN communications with customers and with the Internet  
    • Access Control List (ACL) configuration/router support:  The candidate shall be proficient in firewall filter optimization to include building, configuring and deployment of the extremely large and complex firewall filters to DISN routers. The candidate should be able to test both router performance and deployment logic to ensure that the bi-weekly ACL deployment has first met all required testing parameters 
    • SIPR IP engineering support:  The candidate shall provide engineering support in all aspects of the classified DISN (SIPRNet) 

    Qualifications

    • Network modeling, analysis, and planning 
    • Development of test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines  
    • Network troubleshooting  
    • Technical planning and analysis, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability and effectiveness analyses  

    Experience

    • 10+ years supporting DoD and/or Government programs 
    • 11 years progressively responsible network systems engineering experience 
    • Experience providing information assurance project management, technical security staff oversight, and development of mission-critical technical documents 

    Education

    • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
