IPKeys Technologies is seeking a Network Systems Engineering Lead to provide transport engineering support for all DOD and non-DOD interconnected communication infrastructures located world- wide. The candidate is expected to participate in regular meetings with internal program staff, teammates, and the government client on a frequent basis is expected to deliver client value for the Communications Engineering Division, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which is responsible for maintaining and posturing the DOD Information Network (DODIN) transport infrastructure and capabilities. Effective leadership and communication skills are essential for working among a blended prime/subcontractor program team and developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
The network systems engineering intermediate candidate shall provide engineering support to develop and/or update Systems Planning & Design (SP&D) documentation of global and regional portions of the DoDIN. SP&D documentation is site-based and includes all the technical details necessary to implement a design solution at a given site.
The candidate shall analyze existing and planned DoDIN Transport, IP, Timing & Synchronization, and Power architectures, and recommend appropriate actions or changes for the best alternatives to engineering support.
The candidate shall have demonstrated experience with authoring and updating the sampling of government requested deliverables associated with this tasking by providing:
The candidate shall have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of utilizing DISA Network Change Management tools, Configuration Management tools, Network design tools, and other available means to update SP&D documentation to reflect the current/future DISN architecture for implementation.
The candidate shall support the SP&D documentation automation process including the transition to the use of automated tools, the migration of existing SP&D documentation from PowerPoint to the tools, and the development of new SP&D documentation in the tools.
The candidate shall provide engineering support and the appropriate procedures to support development of SP&D documentation in automated tools. The candidate shall provide training as required to the personnel on the development of SP&D documentation in automated tools. The candidate shall utilize the tools to develop Engineering Work Orders (EWO) to update SP&D documentation plans.
The candidate shall provide technical expertise to derive early CP&D engineering solutions and any associated documentations.
The candidate shall:
Additionally, the candidate shall support the process of transitioning the early CP&D to preliminary design. System engineering design (SED) (using MSS entry) includes determining the new/existing nodes, card, port reservation (at backbone trunk), DISN backbone. CP&D will take the information from SP&D and build DCN equipment (new/existing DCN node), Circuit Design & Planning based on network sustainment activities, port reservation (at circuit/detailed level), develop Engineering Work Order (EWO). CP&D will also support DISN backbone. CP&D will be involved in more detailed (circuit level) engineering design/activities.
The candidate shall travel with Government personnel to attend engineering Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), support Government project leads at internal/external project management meetings, develop briefing slides for Senior Leadership/project leads, develop white papers and support the development of transport related engineering studies.
