Overview

IPKeys Technologies is seeking a Functional Test Engineer to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Cyber Situational Awareness, Analytics and Security portfolios. Support is conducted in DISA’s Lab at Ft. Meade. The Lead Test Engineer will be responsible for overseeing a functional test team and identifying the enterprise impact of deploying or upgrading the system under test. This involves independent validation and verification (IV&V) of the functionality, interoperability, scalability, performance, and usability of the related systems. The Lead Test Engineer will review test cases developed by the product vendor to ensure all requirements are adequately evaluated. Test plans shall be developed to execute validated test cases within the specified test window. After completion of the test event, they will provide a report outlining the objectives and results of the test event and any potential impacts identified during testing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a functional test team of 5-6
  • Perform installation or upgrade of the program systems assigned
  • Document discrepancies in the installation/upgrade/user guide identified during testing
  • Develop test plans for evaluating the functionality, interoperability, performance, scalability, and usability of each release of the DISA ID directorate programs.
  • Execute test plans in structured test events.
  • Brief any major impacts that were identified during testing to the Senior Test Engineer or Government Test Lead.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the engineering teams of the programs supported.
  • Assist the Senior Test Engineer and System Administrator as needed with lab configuration and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of basic computer system components and their interactions (Memory, Processor, NIC, etc).
  • Understanding of enterprise web-applications architectures and interactions
  • Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft IIS Web Servers
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems
  • Experience with application test tools (HP LoadRunner), terminology, and procedures
  • Security+ certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of virtual / lab environments
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings
