Overview

IPKeys Technologies is seeking a Network System Engineer to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Cyber Situational Awareness, Analytics and Security portfolios. Support is conducted in at Ft. Meade, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network, storage, system, and architecture planning and implementation for infrastructure as a Service.
  • Responsible for network component (servers, routers, firewalls, controllers, etc.) configuration and security management for an environment that includes networking equipment from several different manufacturers, as well as Windows and Linux servers, databases, VMware NSX and security hardware & software.
  • Provide implementation, configuration, deployment and ongoing support of the VMware networking architecture and implementation using NSX.
  • Engineer solutions for increasing redundancy, increasing availability, expanding capacity, and streamlining network operations.
  • Provide in-depth analysis including plans for system enhancements for existing network and server configurations.
  • Develop and maintain technical data such network architectures, installation instructions, and other documentation.
  • Perform security modifications to achieve compliance with network STIGs.
  • Monitor environment and provide support to end-users.
  • Mentor team members on network and storage appliances, configurations, and architecture.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record setting up and administering networks within operational or lab environments achieving high levels of availability
  • Proficient technical experience with Juniper, Cisco, or Brocade equipment to include switches, firewalls, and routers as well as storage solutions such as EquaLogic/NetApp/Tegile.
  • Proficient technical skills in various editions of ESXi/vSphere platform (e.g. .5.x, and 6.x) a plus.
  • Proficiency with VMware software and network services vSwitches/dvSwitches and NSX administration a plus.
  • Proficiency with translating network security requirements and policy into specific device configurations.
  • Strong organizational, innovative, verbal, and written communication skills
