IPKeys Technologies is seeking a Network Systems Design Engineer to join our team in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) at Ft. Meade.
Provide work breakdown structure, monitor work package completion, and assist in maintaining overall project schedule.
Analyze existing and planned Defense Information System Network (DISN) transport architectures and recommend appropriate actions or changes for the best alternatives.
Provide network designs, analyses, and technical solutions to resolve network transition issues.
Define the DISN transport goal architecture, services, and how DISA will provide, operate, and manage consolidated information system networks and services.
Coordinate emerging requirements with user representatives and appropriate DISA staff members, ensuring user requirements and associated milestones are met.
Provide appropriate engineering recommendations weekly on engineering designs in accordance with the DISA Test & Evaluation Plan.
Provide weekly design team meeting minutes for review by the Government design team lead engineer and weekly System Engineering documentation review and updates; to include the tracking and reporting status of all architecture design issues/concerns. The candidate shall provide and broadcast meeting slides using government provided collaborative meeting tools.
Recommend specific procedures for operating and managing DISN transport; including methodologies associated with cost recovery, administration, and billing.
Perform a variety of network engineering tasks, under supervision, which is broad in nature and is concerned with the design and implementation of integrated networks, hardware, software, and support facilities and/or equipment such as Cisco ONS 15454 SONET MSPP, ONS 15310 SONET MSPP, and Adtran 2800 M13 multiplexers, Coriant SN 16000, Coriant SN 9000, Cisco and Juniper Routers.
Bachelor's Degree in related field or 3-5 years of experience in Network Engineering/Design
Security+ or equivalent certification preferred
Engineering BS degree preferred
